A MINI C-ARM THAT
WORKS WITH YOU
1. LED LIGHTS | Insufficient lighting during a case can make it challenging to see anatomy clearly. Unique to the Orthoscan TAU family, surgical LED lights provide additional illumination on the anatomy. Eliminate shadows cast from the C-arm and the OR so you can work with certainty.
2. STEPLESS COLLIMATOR | Introducing the industry’s first motorized collimator in a mini C-arm. With the touch of a finger, infinitely adjust via the touchscreen interface to minimize radiation exposure and reduce patient dose while limiting the area of interest.
3. BILATERAL CONTROLS | New backlit controls are easier to see with additional buttons for upgraded functionality.

4. C-ARM DESIGN | Focus on your case with an increased orbital rotation of 160°, larger arc depth of 20”, and improved umbilical cable. Effortlessly maneuver the C-arm to attain preferred views without stressing your patient’s anatomy.

Intelligent Dose Reduction
At Orthoscan, we understand your concerns about radiation exposure and the demand for high-quality images. That’s why the TAU family includes cutting-edge Intelligent Dose Reduction that provides the best in diagnostic image quality while reducing exposure to you and your patients.
-
REDUCE YOUR DOSE, NOT YOUR IMAGE QUALITY
Orthoscan TAU 2020 features pulsed fluoroscopy technology, previously available only on full size C-arms.
By imaging at 30 pulses per second, significantly reduce your dose rate compared to conventional continuous fluoroscopy — all without loss of image quality or detail.
Further reduce dose with selectable pulses per second of 15 and 7.5 pps, depending upon your imaging needs.
-
THE ONLY MINI C-ARM AVAILABLE WITH PEDIATRIC INDICATION
While Orthoscan TAU is a low dose device by design, it is also the only mini C-arm designed for pediatric use.
By engaging the Optimized Dose Filter, Orthoscan TAU can reduce dose significantly in children and adults.
-
NEXT GENERATION CMOS IMAGING FOR THE SURGICAL MARKET
Achieve increased DQE efficiency with the latest generation CMOS detector.
Free from a dependency on photon energy, these detectors produce low-noise images even in very low dose situations. Next generation detectors improve image brightness, decrease ramp time, and reduce dose.
Additionally, Mag Mode retains image quality without an increase in dose.
-
SEAMLESS COLLIMATION FOR THE PERFECT SHOT
Seamlessly focus your area of interest with the first-ever motorized collimator in a mini C-arm. Enjoy infinite degrees of collimation adjusted via the Orthotouch interface.
Reduce dose to the patient. Improve image quality and contrast. Just one more way Orthoscan TAU 2020 puts the power of choice into your hands.
* Using Intelligent Dose Reduction (with Cu filter) when compared to Orthoscan 1000-0004-FD. In clinical practice, the use of IDR may reduce patient dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location, and clinical practice. A consultation with a radiologist and a physicist should be made to determine the appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the particular clinical task.

As TAU 2020 closes the gap between mini and full size C-arms, you may wonder which class of device is right for your imaging needs.
Here are three simple advantages TAU 2020 has over full size equipment.
-
1Low dose device
By the nature of their design and advancements in dose reduction technology, Orthoscan mini C-arms typically emit significantly less dose than conventional full size C-arms.
-
2Easy to use
Orthoscan mini C-arms are all-in-one units designed to be easily positioned and operated by one user. Multiple operators and accessories are not required.
-
3Small & portable
True to their name, Orthoscan mini C-arms take up less space in your facility and OR. They are highly portable, making transport between rooms painless.
TAU is the name of a mathematical ratio commonly found in nature. It’s often referred to as the Golden ratio.
This ratio can be used to create aesthetically pleasing, natural-looking compositions in designs.
The TAU family was designed using this principle.
