JOB SUMMARY:
The Software Compliance Engineer oversees quality assurance for software used in our medical X-Ray products. This position works closely with the software development team and as such requires a high level of communication and discretion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure the functional requirements are documented then generate automated and manual testing procedures to be used in regression testing and V&V activities.
- Document software requirements then generate manual and/or automated test procedures.
- Write and Execute test scripts used to verify device functions running on various software platforms depending on hardware platform
- Assist Software Developers with tracking down software anomalies and track anomalies and features for appropriate documentation and closure.
- Analyze and test new code as it its committed to repositories by developers
- Implement regulatory requirements such as IEC62304 Medical Device Software
- Required to learn the products and obtain a detailed understanding of if its software functions.
- Ensure the functional requirements are documented then generate automated and manual testing procedures to be used in regression testing and V&V activities.
- As software anomalies are identified, this position is responsible to insure they are tracked and documented appropriately.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience.
Experience
- Software QA experience desired.
- Prior experience and knowledge in testing skills (design test plan and test strategy, writing test cases, executing test cases, opening bugs, verifying bugs).
Competencies:
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- This is a hands-on position; that requires a high level of trust with unrestricted access to products, code, and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must feel comfortable asking questions when clarity is needed.
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with a willingness to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Having knowledge of and demonstrating a willingness to work through different cultures’ beliefs, values, and traditions is a must.
